Martin Hall in Dublin will be OPEN except for the Automotive Lab on Thursday, February 25, 2021
The first step to becoming a student at New River Community College is to complete an application. We have an online application process that we encourage all prospective students to use.
If you are unsure whether you need to fill out an application or have other general questions, read below:
Who needs to complete an application?
Any prospective student who has never taken a class at NRCC or has not taken a class in the past 3 years needs to fill out the application.
If you have attended another Virginia Community College but have never attended NRCC, an application is needed.
Can I apply on paper or in person?
Yes. Prospective students may still fill out a paper application that is available in one of the offices on campus at NRCC, or that can be printed from our website.
Below are resources to help with planning and options for paying tuition and related expenses.
New River Community College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment and degree verifications. The National Student Clearinghouse can be contacted at:
Web: www.degreeverify.org
Mail: National Student Clearinghouse

When ordering transcripts through Parchment you must create a username and password exclusive to Parchment. The Parchment site does not utilize your MyNRCC username and password information.
Students must clear any holds or financial obligation to the College before transcript requests are processed.
If you do not know your Student ID number, please call Admissions and Records at 540-674-3603.
Transcripts requested without a Student ID, or with an incorrect Student ID may be delayed. Please check all information entered for accuracy. Please do not guess-verify!
Students who have officially changed their name, please provide the name used while enrolled at NRCC.
All paper hard copy transcripts issued are official and in a sealed envelope. Do not open your transcript if you plan to· send the transcript to a college or organization. An opened transcript is considered unofficial by most colleges and organizations.
Official transcripts may still be picked up at the admissions and records office in Rooker Hall, Dublin or at NRCC's site at Uptown Christiansburg (formerly NRV Mall) during regular business hours. There is no charge to pick up your official transcript in person.
Standard orders are processed within five business days from receipt of the order, except orders placed on weekends, holidays and peak times during the semester. Delivery time is not included in processing time and varies by delivery service and local area.
Please check to make sure you need an official transcript before requesting one. Sometimes an unofficial transcript will suffice. View and print your unofficial transcript via MyNRCC.
