Information Technology Specialist II (Full-Time)

Qualifications Required:

Substantial experience in a technology-related position.
Demonstrated and detailed knowledge of various Windows operating systems, including servers.
Knowledge and/or experience of working with Active Directory, Windows Group Policy, PowerShell, WSUS, and various scripting languages.
Experience creating, deploying, and updating system images.
Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot server and client software problems.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to effectively and clearly deliver technical information to a wide variety of users.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple simultaneous projects.
Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware problems in PCs, laptops, and servers.
Ability to meet a flexible schedule as needed to perform critical installs and updates outside of regular hours.
Ability to climb ladders, drive, and lift 50 lbs.

Management experience
Experience working in a virtualized computing environment
Experience working with systems management software
Experience working with a large catalog of software used in higher education, such as Office, Visual Studio, Adobe, Autodesk, Google, Pearson, Certiport, and others
Cybersecurity training and certifications.

Duties:

The Information Technology Specialist II leads the Technology Services Department in providing technical support and services for NRCC. This position is mainly responsible for packaging, deploying, and updating Windows-based software and images across all labs and offices on campus. The individual filling this position will also assist in maintaining security by researching, planning, and delivering required updates and patches to systems. The Information Technology Specialist II will install hardware and assist users across campus with daily help desk issues by providing in-person, remote, and phone support. They will also assist the Network and Media services departments in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems. Other duties will include assisting with the repair, inventory, and reporting of physical equipment through various methods.
