For adults 18 and older who want to improve their basic skills, attain employment readiness skills, or earn a GED/High School Equivalency. Classes are offered at NRCC’s Dublin campus and Christiansburg site and at adult learning centers in Floyd, Giles, and Radford. NRCC serves as the regional provider of Adult Education services in the New River Valley and is an official GED Testing Center.

The Office of Transitional Programs provides academically-oriented classes for English Language Acquisition. The skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening are taught with an emphasis on job placement or career enhancement, and/or entry to a GED class or a post-secondary institution.

Great Expectations offers educational and supportive services to current and former foster youth ages 16 to 24. Young adults in the Great Expectations Program develop a career plan and transition to postsecondary training with the support of the Great Expectations Coach.
