The NRCC Educational Foundation application is open year-round (effective February 2024)
AWARD INFORMATION:
- Applications received will be reviewed for the upcoming semester (excluding summer).
- Scholarship applications will be reviewed monthly.
- Applicants will be notified by email of the scholarship award.
ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP CONSIDERATION
The NRCC Educational Foundation awards scholarships (generally in the amount of $1,700 per academic year)
to qualified
persons for attendance at New River Community College.
These awards are based on criteria such as financial need and academic achievement.
Applicants of all ages are considered for NRCC Educational Foundation Scholarships.
Both continuing NRCC students and prospective NRCC students may apply.
ACCE students cannot receive an Educational Foundation Scholarship while receiving ACCE funding.
The following guidelines apply unless otherwise specified.

There is no minimum course load requirement to receive a scholarship.

Applicant must enroll in a program of study or declare a major at New River Community College.
- Applicant must fully complete application online.

Applicant must furnish copies of high school and/or college transcripts.

Recipients must agree to attend the college’s annual scholarship brunch held in October,
write a thank-you letter to a donor or donors, and to attend the scholarship orientation.

Returning Scholarship students do NOT need to reapply for the scholarship for a second year.
Scholarship recipients are granted a scholarship the following year as long as the student is in good academic standing.
