Instructional Designer (Full-Time)

Position Area:

Qualifications Required:

Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development or closely related field.
Demonstrated proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Canvas, D2L, or similar platforms.
Expertise in using e-learning authoring tools, including but not limited to Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
Experience with multimedia production software for video, audio, and graphic editing (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Studio).
Proficiency in integration of innovative technologies and digital resources to support instructional delivery.
In-depth understanding of adult learning theories (andragogy), instructional design models, theories, applications, and best practices for online, hyflex, hybrid, and traditional learning environments.
Knowledge of universal design for learning (UDL), accessibility standards, quality matters, and effective assessment strategies.
Ability to apply data-driven approaches to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
Strong understanding of current best practices for online and blended learning.
Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and commitment to teamwork.
Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and staff, including individuals with varying levels of technical proficiency.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines independently.
Committed to continual professional development, staying adaptable and ahead of new trends in instructional technology for higher education.

Duties:

Design and development: Provide expert guidance to faculty on instructional design theories, backward design, and universal design principles to develop high-quality, interactive, and inclusive courses. Assist with technical and "how to" questions.
Course development: Collaborate with faculty and staff to design engaging course materials and incorporate appropriate media components, learning activities, and assessments.
Consultation and training: Conduct one-on-one consultations, group workshops, and professional development sessions for faculty on the effective use of instructional technologies and learning management systems (LMS).
Project management: Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders, timely delivery, and a focus on established learning objectives.
Technology integration: Research, evaluate, and recommend new educational technologies and applications that align with pedagogical goals and institutional priorities.
Accessibility and equity: Stay current on best practices and legal requirements for course accessibility, such as ADA standards, to ensure all course materials and resources are accessible to all.
Evaluation and improvement: Implement evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials and training programs. Use feedback and performance data to inform revisions and continuous improvement.
Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with academic departments, information technology services, and student support services to support institutional initiatives.

Salary:

$65,571-$97,798 Dependent on academic qualifications and previous work experience
