The New River Community College Center for Teaching, Learning and Professional Development (CTLPD) values high quality teaching and learning and therefore promotes and supports professional growth of its faculty and staff. The work of the CTLPD emphasizes innovative teaching, scholarship, and development of both instructional and professional skills and is committed to student engagement and success, rich learning experiences, dialogue, and lifelong learning.
The CTLPD allows opportunities for development and exchange of ideas to build a strong instructional community, as well as for development around pedagogy/andragogy and teaching practices to support a student-focused community college. The center offers NRCC faculty and staff the opportunity to be members of a diverse, active learning community and provides space for colleagues to share and reflect on ideas and approaches to effectively instruct and support students.
