Endowed Scholarship Program - The Endowed Scholarship Program provides scholarships for over 125 NRCC students each academic year. Through this outstanding program, deserving students receive awards of $1,000 to support their studies. Recipients are selected in a competitive process by a faculty/staff committee. Many donors take advantage of this program to honor or memorialize family members or others. In addition to a set of general criteria for all scholarships, donors may specify additional selection criteria, such as designating a preferred major or degree program or a geographical location where the applicant must reside.
The minimum amount to endow a scholarship is $12,500. This amount may be paid in installments for a period of up to five years. Funds are invested and the principle remains intact, and the interest is used to award a scholarship each year.

Anne Huff Book Fund - While tuition and fees are substantially lower at NRCC and other Virginia community colleges than at public universities and private colleges, the cost of textbooks is equivalent to that at more expensive institutions, and is largely controlled by national trends in the textbook publishing industry. A single textbook often costs more than $100, and may exceed twice that amount in some cases.
If you'd like to help needy students meet the challenge of paying for textbooks, please consider contributing to the Anne Huff Book Fund. This fund was established by the New River Community College Educational Foundation out of concern for student needs in this area, with a goal of one million dollars in donations.
The fund is named in honor of Ann Huff, a former Foundation board member and NRCC college board member, and the wife of prominent area businessman H. W. Huff, Jr. An emeritus member of the Foundation Board and long-time supporter of the college, Mr. Huff kicked off the campaign with a generous contribution in her honor.

Unrestricted Gifts - Unrestricted gifts can be used to meet a variety of needs created by shortages in state funding, increasing enrollments, and expensive technology upgrades. Gifts to the NRCC Educational Foundation that are unrestricted give the college the maximum flexibility to respond to changing student, campus and community needs.

Gifts for Campus Development - NRCC takes pride in the beauty of its campus. Gifts may be specified for use in the general upkeep and beautification of the grounds and buildings, or for specific purposes. Recently, several private donations have contributed to upgrading the campus environment.

Donations for Professional Development - Gifts made for professional development allow our faculty and staff members to continue to enhance the knowledge and skills used to provide the best possible educational experience for students. Such funding may be used for college courses, conferences, seminars or other professional development opportunities.

VCCS Endowment Matching Program - The Endowment Matching Program supports establishment of endowments for which the investments earnings on qualified gifts by donors are eligible for up to a 100% match by the state. These endowments must be created for the specific purpose of enhancing selected academic offerings to provide education and training for high-cost or high-demand occupations identified as critical to the economic vitality of the Commonwealth.

Memorial Brick Program - For a gift of only $50, you can have your own name (or that of someone you wish to honor) permanently engraved into one of the bricks which adjoins the sidewalk and entrance to Edwards Hall on the NRCC campus.
